I have frequented the 395 for the past 4 years now, yet I am still in awe of the eastern sierra mountains found along the freeway. This particular scene is based off of Mono county mountain ranges in the summer.

This past summer I lived in mono county for a couple weeks, climbing and camping out of our minivan. We frequented June beach for its fantasy-like atmosphere and warm waters. I painted this scene about ~5 times: along the shore, surrounded by a family of deer, in a car during heavy rain, and amongst forest fire smog. Each painting had the same stylized and geometric lines.

“Wei’s lake” was inspired by a beautiful hike into “Way lake” along the eastern sierras. The deep greens and pops of color were based off of the vibrant vegetation found along a rushing river.

Black mountain is one of my favorite areas to climb during the summer time. “Biscuit” is the name of a friends puppy whom I spent majority of the time hanging out with. This painting is reminiscent of time spent car camping, bouldering, and looking up at the clouds.

My favorite destination for California bouldering. The Buttermilks features a breathtaking view and some of the most aesthetic lines in the world. Every time I see this sign right before the dirt road, I get giddy with excitement.
